Time to take our school on the road.

Today we will embark on a hs'ing adventure... again! This time - exploring a new region of the US as a family! The girls and I will be eastbound... and Dad will catch up with us when we reach Vermont (via airplane).
We'll see how I do with mobile blogging!

2008 Orchard Trip

Every fall, our family enjoys a "day-long" vacation to a local Apple Orchard north of town. It started years ago when I was teaching - I would bring my students to this orchard owned & operated by the Black Family near Cambridge, IA. Now, Black's Center Grove Orchard is hopping with activities, sure to please kids of all ages! Heaven knows Brian and I were just as entertained as the girls!

2008 Iowa State Fair

U GOTTA Love IT was the Theme for the Fair this year... and man, did we ever! As Brian says, it was MUCH MORE than "fair"!
I went to the fair 4 time sthis year... which may very well be a new record. The girls all got to go 3 times. I really feel like we saw a lot of it - though I know we didn't see it all. It's JUST too big!
We had a blast visiting the fair with Luke & Kristina yesterday.

Locks of Love!

Mariah has been working very hard to grow her hair out long enough for Locks of Love to use. Today was the day she donated 10" of her beautiful blonde hair to http://www.locksoflove.org/. We are very proud of her... and we love her new, Springy do!
We had to go celebrate at Coldstone Creamery afterward!
